This 2.7 RS Touring is currently undergoing a concours restoration in our Classic Porsche workshop in Newport Pagnell and will be completed in Summer 2009. A genuine matching-numbers car presented with Porsche documentation and Export 56 restoration file.
The car was completed at Stuttgart, Zuffenhausen in early 1972 and supplied new as a Left Hand Drive model to its German owner and carried the vehicle registration OL W3255. It was original presented with Light yellow 117 body colour and black interior with Hound’s-tooth inserts on the Recaro Sports seats, the car will be finished using the original colour scheme.
After a decade of use on German roads the car underwent a colour change as well as an upgrade to Lightweight specification. It was subjected to some light track work through the 80’s and was then acquired by and English collector in 1989. It was then imported into and UK and registered on the 07.08.1989 along with 2 other RS Tourings purchased for a private collection. He kept the cars for several years until he decided to downsize his collection, he sold 2 of the RS’s but retained chassis number 0528 then relocated the car in the South of France.
In February 2008 we prepared the car for a meticulous ground-up restoration and mechanical rebuild. The car has been completely striped, chemical dipped and E-coated. The extensive rebuild has included; new floors, front quarters, front latch panel, doors etc. Mechanically the car has undergone a full engine rebuild, total running gear build and complete interior retrim. To date over 1800 hours have been invested into this RS as well as endless lists of parts for Porsche Silverstone we would estimate the restoration cost to be in excess of £100K.
This car represents a rare opportunity to acquire a matching numbers Porsche 911 2.7RS Touring restored to concours condition complete with, original registration documents and comprehensive Export 56 restoration file. UK registered with MOT and historic vehicle tax status.
Please contact us for a full description of restoration works that have been carried out on this car.
