We are proud to offer for sale this extremely rare 1969, 911 2.2S Coupe. One of only 8 cars to be imported into the UK by Porsche GB in that year. An genuine 2 owner, matching-numbers car that is presented with a comprehensive history file including videos of the car appearing on TV!
Chassis # 0157 was completed at Stuttgart, Zuffenhausen in 1969 and supplied new as a Right Hand Drive model via AFN Limited, Isleworth. It was original supplied in a special order colour, Signal Orange as this colour was not available in Europe it would have been given a 9999 paint code. The car is presented today in its original colour scheme.
First registered in the UK on the 13.11.1969 the car was retained by its first owner until 1973 where upon he traded the car in for a new Porsche 911 after only 7000 miles. The car then found a long-term home in the ownership of Mr. Malcolm James of Stourbridge who owned the car for 35 years. During that period it has been meticulously maintained by Porsche specialists, with a large file of services records, MOT’s and maintenance receipts.
During the 80’s and 90’s the car appeared on several BBC TV progammes including an episode of Doctors where the car is being driven by the Confessions films actor Robin Askwith. The car has more recently been featured in several publications including Classic and Sportscar and Porsche 911 World.
This has been maintained regardless of cost and represents a very rare opportunity to acquire a 2 owner, matching numbers Porsche 911 2.2S Coupe, in outstanding original condition throughout. Complete with all tools, original handbooks, service receipts and comprehensive history file.
