AFN was personally appointed by Ferry Porsche in 1953 as sole UK concessionaires, and AFN’s Falcon Works in Isleworth was soon visited by many racing driver customers including Betty Haig (356 pre-A), John Surtees (who bought a 356 Super) and Stirling Moss (taking delivery of a 904 Carrera Coupé).

Inspired by AFN’s garage, Shell Woad Corner follows the success of its retro garage venue in 2007 by linking with Magic of Motoring (heritage merchandise), Porsche GB and world famous classic Porsche restorers Export 56 to celebrate 60 years of Porsche 1948-2008.

The AFN forecourt recreation includes some milestones in Porsche history including the last ever AFN-supplied Porsche 356, the actual Betty Haig car mentioned above, two original 550 Spyders, 904GTS Carrera, 906 Carrera and Andrew Stevens’ 1953 Pre-A (with fascinating Israeli race history!) to be driven by Ferrari works development racer Tony Ring from Sweden (available for interview).

More rare Export 56 restored/prepared road-going sports cars from its showrooms on display – many with extensive AFN histories - including 1953 Pre-A Coupe, 1959 356A Coupe (RHD), 1960 356 Super 90 coupe (RHD), 1962 356 race car, 1965 911 Coupe (RHD), 1966 911 soft-window Targa, 1966 911 Coupe and a fascinating original 1966 manufactured 911 RHD Sportmatic. During the ‘60s AFN ran a weekly parts collection service between Isleworth and Stuttgart and the ‘AFN’ Porsche VW panel van also on display will doubtless be very popular with enthusiasts.

And over in the retail park, MagicOfMotoring.com has the famous race transporter and marquee with all the Shell heritage merchandise, including the official Jochen Rindt Collection and the official Shell Art Collection (largely unseen for decades and now reproduced by the original Cambridge-based printers in exactly the same way, on the same paper stock as originally!)

Not forgetting the popular Shell race suits, ‘Pit Lane’ mechanic’s overalls, the Shell ‘60’ collection of shirts, jackets and ‘racing leather’, the ‘executive collection’ including bags, gloves and cases, and the models and toys collection including the TV-featured ‘child-driveable’ electric or petrol-powered Maserati and Ferrari GP cars!

We do hope you will drop by the ‘VIP-Press Only’ Woad Corner Café - expect the same wow factor and attention to detail as last year’s Shell Woad Corner venue, along with plenty of celebrities and excitement as the racing Porsches are prepared in the AFN Service bay.
