Porsche 356A Background
The 15 year production period ranged from Early 1950 until September 1965 and included 5 different model types.
The Porsche 356A was built from October 1955 through to 1957 and was known as the Type T1. From 1957 it was renamed the Type T2 until production ceased in October 1959. The 356A came with the following engine options: 1600, 1600 S, 1600, 1500 GS Carrera “de Luxe” and 1500 and 1600 GT Carrera.“Gran Tourer”
Chassis 151555 was delivered new into Kenya via Cooper Motor Corporation to its first owner Mr Fritschy with the following options;
According to the database of early RHD 356’s chassis number151555 is one of only a handful of RHD 356 cabriolet delivered new in the special order colour of Auratium green.
The car has been beautifully restored to factory specification and to the highest standards by marque specialist, Roger Bray Restoration and has undergone a number of upgrades making this the perfect touring car.
The car was completed in 2007 and the owners have completed a memorable 15,000 miles European Tour in ‘Ferdie’, who performed faultlessly.

In addition to the cars nut and bolt restoration the new owner gave Roger Bray the brief to upgraded the 356 for long distance touring;
RESTORATION
Chassis number 151555 underwent a documented restoration at the hands of leading UK Classic Porsche specialist Roger Bray.
A comprehensive body shell restoration was completed with the car being carefully dismantled and new body panels where necessary.
The engine and transmission were fully rebuilt. All running gear
components were stripped and restored. The interior was retrimmed, all new internal and external trim, the electrical system and gauges were rebuilt and upgraded to 12V.
All restoration works have been fully documented with all associated invoices.
This car represents a very rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully restored, original RHD Porsche 356 T2A Cabriolet finished in its original and rare colour of Auratium Green.
