This car was originally brought to the UK in the 1990’s, chassis number 9110122692. Originally a standard 911T in Irish Green as sold by Hahn Sportwagen GmbH in 1970, it was fitted with sports seats and “S” accessories.
It has been totally restored as a factory competition lookalike Type Rennen specification, that followed on from the “R” types (only 23 built) of the previous years.
The customer specification Rennen Types were standard 911T chassis taken from the production line and fitted with S components and S engines on Weber Carburetors. With lightweight bonnets (hoods), engine covers, bumpers front and rear and plexiglass windows. As a consequence they were lightweight. (all this information can be confirmed in John Starkeys book on the Porsche R type competition cars)
The car that is for sale is a genuine 911T with its chassis (body) and mechanical parts totally restored every panel has been authenticated and corrected or replaced. The Torque tube has been strengthened as the factory cars. Jacking points are skidded. Anti roll bars are fitted to the rear, all is exactly as the competition chassis might have left the factory in 1970
The car has been designated a Historic Vehicle in the terms of the British taxation authorities. It has been authenticated by the Porsche Club Great Britain as a restored “look alike” Porsche factory competition car of the late 1960’s. (Documents supporting the above are available).
This is not a chassis from something else, it is a genuine 911T 1970 reconstructed as the factory did to produce a look alike customer racer.
