Chassis #131917 left the factory in December 1964 and was original presented with Dolphin Grey (6410) body colour and Black Leatherette interior, this scheme is still current on the car. This car is believed to be the very last Porsche 356 sold by AFN Limited on the 1st January 1966. AFN took delivery of the car on the 16th January 1965 but the car remained unsold for 12 months as discerning Porsche buyers turned their back on the outdated 356 model preferring to be seen behind the wheel of the new 911.
In terms of overall appearance this car is in excellent order. In the mid 90’s the car underwent extensive restoration work to the body including new floors, longitudinal, front and rear clips and door sections. The work was fully documented and supported with several photograph albums. In addition the engine and running gear has been completely stripped and rebuilt. The car has only covered less than 5,000 miles since the restoration and is in perfect order throughout.
The car drives as a 356 should and the additional power of the SC and disc brakes makes it the best car to drive in the model line-up. The car has also retains a number of rare factory options including and original dash clock, radio and 80 litre fuel tank.
This car has been maintained regardless of cost and represents a rare opportunity to acquire a unique piece of Porsche GB’s history. This 356 is in outstanding condition throughout, complete with documented restoration file, all tools, original owner’s manual and comprehensive history file.
This wonderful 356 will be supplied with 12 months MOT and historic vehicle tax status, ready for immediate use
