Porsche 911 3.0 Carrera
The 3.0 Carrera was sold between 1976-1977 and built between two iconic 911 models, the standard 911 and the 930 Turbo. During that period only 3687 cars were produced. This was a very small number if you compare it compared to nearly 58,000 911SCs and 76,500 3.2 Carreras that were manufactured.
Of the total number of 3.0 cars produced, 2564 were coupes and only 1123 where Targa format, and only a very small number were manufactured in RHD. The UK received a tiny number of these, believed to be less than 30 and it’s not know how many were ‘Sport’ modes making this a very rare and collectible car.
The car carried the prestigious Porsche ‘Carrera’ label. Carrera is a trademarked name (Spanish for ‘Race’) exclusively used by Porsche for some of its models to honour the company’s success in the Carrera Panamericana.

Ownership History
The accompanying history file show Steatite insulations of Birmingham as the first owner, registering the car two days after the London Motorshow. Steatite owned the car for 15 years eventually selling to a Miss Sophie Cliffe-Jones who was based in London.
The car changed of ownership twice between 1995 and 2010 then purchased by Export 56 on behalf of a long term client from Brighton.
The car is in extremely good order and has been well maintained during its lifetime. Over the past 7 years we have carried out work to the body, mechanics, running gear and electrical system. The front seats were recently retrimmed using the original tweed material.
The 3.0 Carreras are a really gem to drive delivering much more torque compared to the 2.7 MFI. It genuinely feels quicker in almost every normal driving condition. Prod the right pedal at any revs and it positively jumps! In 1976 with the Sport Package box ticked (unique to the UK Market) you added Recaro Sport seats, Bilstein suspension upgrades and 7″and 8″ rims making this an amazing driving experience.
