Concours of Elegance 2023

To celebrate 75 years of the Porsche brand we will be presenting this beautifully preserved Porsche 911 S/T at this years Concours of Elegance along with 3 spectacular 914/6GT’s.

Chassis No ‘0721’ is acknowledged as one of the most original early examples of a factory built race 911’s in the world and is supported with a fully documented ownership/race history. The car has successfully competed in over 60 European races spanning 5 decades and the cars remarkable condition is a testament to the skilled drivers who raced the car during its life.

In 1973, ‘0721’ scored its most significant result, finishing 1st in class in the 57th Targa Florio and to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the win we will be racing her at this years Targa Florio Classica in October.

Brief Background to the 914/6GT’s

In 1969/70 Porsche racing department built 12 x 914/6 GT race cars for the factory as follows….3 Prototypes/test cars, 2 Targa Florio practice cars, 3 marathon de la Route cars, 3 Monte Carlo Rally Cars and 1 RAC Rally Car. All factory cars were painted Signal Orange.

Porsche also offered the 914/6 with a M471 Racing option, they were built at the production assembly line and at Bauer with the exception of some specific components, 47 of these customer 914/6 GT’s where built. IN addition to these cars the factory offered a GT kit, that was delivered with a regular 914/6. The kit was supposed to be fully installed by designated Porsche dealers. It is unknown how many kits were sold and how many were adapted to race cars.

From the 12 race department cars, 2 were scrapped and first one didn’t have the fender flares and full race package.  This leaves only 9 GT cars from the 3 Monte Carlo Rally cars, the Waldegaard car was scrapped, the Anderson car was sold to Recaro and then change into the famous Linge race track rescue car which only leaves 7 surviving cars.

In 1970 when Porsche won overall at Le Mans for the first time in the legendary 917 a privateer racing a 914/6 GT finish a remarkable 5th overall, a fantastic achievement for this gutsy little mid-engine 2.0 Flat 6 race car. Ironically it was only beaten by the race prototype Ferrari’s and Porsche’s!

Chassis number 914 143 0137 was a Werks built Porsche 914/6GT first owned by Eigenbedarfsfahrzeug der (In-House Vehicle of) Porsche AG and one of the earliest 914/6 GT Werks test cars, built using the internal Werks number 914-55 The original factory homologation papers show chassis number 9141430137 was supplied with the the first ever 914/6 engine 6400001 Showing only 3 owners from new the car has been accurately restored back to factory GT specification

We are delighted to share with you this stunning 914/6 GT recreation. A truly breath taking car built using an original 914/6 donor car and presented in the iconic livery of the Daytona 24 hours Porsche 914/6 GT. This wonderful 914/6 GT has been long term ownership of Mick Pacey a long term restorer, collector and owner of Classic Porsche specialist Export 56. Chassis number 1347 a genuine 914/6 supplied new to Porsche Finland sold to its first owner in May 1970.

Chassis number 9140432197 it is an exact conversion of the 1970 Nürburgring Marathon de la Route Factory No 1 car (which no longer exists) and is aesthetically perfect. Meticulously built by a Marquee specialist using correct factory 914-6 GT parts.

914.043.2197 has competed successfully in Europe and at Tour Auto n Plateau took 2nd place in Group G1/G2 winning 6 of the 8 closed rally stages.
